Percy's Strawberries
Icing sugar

Strawberries 5-6 punnets

Drambuie liquer - 3-4 tbsp

Rawleighs Irish Cream Essence - 3-4 drops

Wash and hull strawberries

Pat dry with a tea towel or paper towels

Roll each strawberry (all the strawberries) well in icing sugar.

Place these all in a bowl.

Add the drambuie (for non alcoholic version add lemon juice, irish cream essence, sugar and boil until syrupy. Wait until cool and then add to the strawberries) and place bowl, covered in the fridge overnight. Every couple of hours spoon the drambuie or syrup from the bottom of the strawberries in the bowl, over the top of the strawberries carefully so as not to bruise or break the strawberries. The smell of alcohol will be quite strong at first but by morning this will all have disappeared. There will only be the smell and taste of delicious strawberry syrup.

You can reduce or double this recipe as and when it suits. I am unsure how many calories this would be-sorry. You can use other fruit instead of the strawberries.
